One problem after another......
When we first met with the partners at Wells Richardson they told us they lacked the work to keep their team busy.
Their options: redundancies or increase the workload. Being the wonderful people they are and having such a close-knit team, they wouldn't contemplate layoffs.
During our first meeting, they told me: "you've got your work cut out today, you're the fourth marketing agency sitting there making promises."
Fast forward 3 years and the team have a new problem: recruiting new team members to keep up with the additional workload!
Escaping downward fee pressure
For years Jackie Hooper from JDH Accountancy in South Wales resisted increasing her fees. Then in 2019, she took the plunge and upped the fees for existing and new clients.
Although she lost a couple of small clients, the major impact was in attracting new business. The practice was used to winning the vast majority of clients it put proposals to. But now Jackie was hearing: "we've decided to go with someone cheaper!
So wisely Jackie decided to focus the practice on attracting more of those high value, high margin joy to work with clients.
Yet she was unsure of how to position the practice to attract the firm's perfect clients. So we interviewed a dozen of her diamonds to help her understand and articulate why they love working with her and "don't care if she doubled her fees." - Seriously, that's a direct quote!
